Being Overtired is Hard

When our bodies are overtired, we don’t feel quite right. We may even start to feel ill. The same is true for your baby; when your baby is overtired, their body doesn’t feel right, either. We may think that every fuss and noise means that our baby is missing us and we need to rush in and help, but if they are uncomfortable from being overtired, what is going to help the most is restorative sleep.

How do we help them get more restorative sleep?

Most of what I focus on with my clients is getting sleep timing right so that your baby has the best chance of falling asleep. When our brains get overtired, they release cortisol which puts us into a state of fight or flight, and the same is true for our babies. That’s not an ideal situation for falling asleep. I focus on the best situation for your baby to fall asleep, avoiding that state of fight or flight. Even if you’ve tried sleep training in the past and it hasn’t worked, I’d be willing to guess that the missing piece for you was the timing.

Head over to the “work with me” page and let’s get a consultation scheduled. You and your baby can get better sleep, and it can happen quickly. Let’s do it together.
