Mom Guilt and Sleep Training

Mom guilt is real and so hard. I can completely understand feeling mom guilt about wanting or needing to sleep train your little one. When you’re doing it alone, it feels scary and unsure and like you aren’t making the right decision for your family.

Let me pose a question for you, though. When you’re overtired, does your body feel right? Probably not. When your baby is overtired, their body also doesn’t feel right. It’s very hard, as humans, to feel good when we aren’t getting enough sleep and babies *need* a lot of sleep. It’s science. Their growth and development is so rapid that sleep isn’t optional for them, it’s an “essential nutrient”.

The first few nights can feel so overwhelming, but remember that you are doing what your baby needs to get more sleep. It’s true that being overtired plus change can equal crying, but the good news is that done right, sleep training can make a huge difference in their quality of sleep in just a few nights.

If you’re ready to sleep train and want some extra direction, head over to the Work With Me page and let’s set up a call. I will get you through every step, taking the guesswork and questions away. We can do this. You and your little one can get better sleep.
