Why Does My Baby False Start at Bedtime?

Is your baby prone to “false starts”, or waking up multiple times shortly after going to sleep for the night?

This is a classic sign that your baby is overtired. Thankfully, the answer is relatively simple.

If the issue is a new one- give them an earlier bedtime for 2 or 3 nights. Even 20 minutes will do the trick.

If the problem is a chronic one, more than a week or two, you may need a drastically earlier bedtime to make a big difference. Try 30-60 minutes earlier for a few nights and see if that helps the issues. A one time call would be a great way to figure out what time that should be, if you want to take the guesswork out of it.

An important note- it will take more than one night. If you are halfway through night one or night two and it hasn’t helped, know that you haven’t made up the full sleep debt yet.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and don’t want to do it alone, let’s schedule a call! We can have a quick chat to see if my services are right for you, a once time troubleshooting call, or a full consultation with support. Click over to my “Work With Me” page for more information.
